Providing a haven for inner-city youth for over 40 years

History

The Haven, formally called Teen Haven Camp, has a long history as a place young inner-city boys and girls were challenged and called to a higher stand, inspiring them to be who they were created to be, and live as they were designed to live.

Teen Haven Camp was built in 1965 under the leadership of Reverend William (Bill) A. Drury in Philadelphia to provide a place of retreat and discipleship for the young boys and girls he was ministering to at his after-school centers.

Today it continues to serve as a place for spiritual renewal away from the hustle of our inner-city, fast paced lifestyle. Whether people come for a private getaway, weekend group retreat or one day event, they all have one thing in common when they return home and that is that they return home feeling "new".

Sometimes a new perspective or a new direction is what we need to breakaway from the old things that hold us back.

We celebrate the camp's special history by keeping it a safe haven for people to come to be renewed.
